Duties: Police Officers with Westchester County And Local Police agencies are responsible for enforcing Federal, county and municipal laws and ordinances. Officers are hired by the county or local towns and villages. Vacancies will be filled in the Department of Public Safety Services, the cities of Peekskill and Rye and the towns and villages within the county.
Starting Salary : Varies with Appointing Authority
County Police Officer (PA1) Salary Step 01- $55,297 to
Step 05 -$101,058 (Effective January 1, 2014) .
Note: Salaries are probably higher depending on subsequent contract raises.

Due to the social distancing requirements associated with COVID-19, you may be assigned to either Saturday, May 15, 2021 or Sunday, May 16, 2021 to take your test. Your admission notice will tell you where and when you are scheduled to appear.
Requirements to be appointed:
(1) U.S. Citizenship required
(2) Must have a background investigation
(3) Must have a valid State Driver’s License
(4) You must be at least 20 years of age and not older than 35 as of the date when the applicant takes the written examination.
(However, there is no minimum age requirement to take the examination).
(5) At the time of examination, either: (A) Graduation from a standard senior high school; or (B) possession of a high school equivalency diploma or a USAFIGED.
(6) ELIGIBILITY: All candidates for examination must be a legal resident of Westchester County at the time of examination and for at least one month prior thereto (April 15, 2021). Candidates will be required to submit proof of residency when requested.
(7) Physical and Medical tests.
(8) Additional requirements required to be hired.
