University Police – SUNY

Duties: Police Officers with State University of New York are responsible for enforcing State Laws  in around State college campuses.. 

Starting Salary : $59,298 per year.

Deadline to apply:  August 10, 2022

Requirements:

Either 1. two years of active military service with an honorable discharge AND 30 college semester credit hours;

Or 2. successful completion of a New York State Municipal Police Training Council approved Pre-Employment Training Program AND eligibility to complete the second phase of such training program that has not lapsed AND 30 college semester credit hours;

Or 3. 60 or more college semester credit hours.

If you expect to meet the educational requirements by June 30, 2023, you can take the test. You MUST submit proof of successful completion of the educational requirements to the appointing authority at the time of the employment interview or you will not be considered for appointment. Failure to meet the educational requirements by June 30, 2023, may result in your removal from the eligible list.

Requirements to be appointed:

(1) U.S. Citizenship required

(2) Must have a background investigation

(3) Must have a valid State Driver’s License

(4) You must be at least 20 years of age at time of appointment and not older than 35 years as of the date when the applicant takes the written examination.

(5)New York State residency at the time of appointment, but not required for taking the test.

(6) Additional requirements required to be hired.
