Duties: Police Officers with the U.S. Capitol Police are responsible for enforcing Federal, county and municipal laws and ordinances. Officers are responsible for protecting the Capitol complex, Members of Congress, visitors, and staff.
Starting Salary : $64,815 per year

Requirements:
(1) U.S. Citizenship required
(2) Must have a background investigation
(3) Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license that has not been revoked or under suspension for the past three (3) years.
(4) You must be at least 21 years of age and not older than 37 at the time of appointment.
As a result of critical mission requirements, a waiver has been granted by the Capitol Police Board, allowing a maximum entry age of up to 39 years of age at the time of appointment (or 40 years of age if the individual turns 40 in the same month of their initial appointment), with required mandatory retirement after 20 years of Federal law enforcement service (e.g., employed at 39 years of age and retire at 59 years of age).
(5) Registered with the Selective Service System; or exempt from the Selective Service System registration.
(6 ) Applicants must not be in default or delinquent on any federal guaranteed student loans.
(7) High School diploma or GED certificate is required.
(8) Additional requirements required to be hired.
