Duties: Police Officers with the LAPD are responsible for enforcing State and Local laws and ordinances.
Starting Salary : $67,546 Per Year
Top Pay is : $76,379 ($79,344 per year – must meet requirements)

Requirements:
- You must be at least 20 years of age by the date of application. You must have attained age 21 by Police Academy graduation.
- United States citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien who has applied for U.S. citizenship prior to written exam. Must be granted U.S. Citizenship within 3 years of employment application date.
- Pass written exam
- Pass Medical and Psychological Assessment
- Pass an interview
- Pass a background investigation
- Pass polygraph examination

Education requirement
You must have:
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent .
- Successfully completed 2 or 4 year college degree may be substituted for the High School requirement.
